Esiste un linguaggio che non necessita lo studio di una grammatica scritta ma che si basa su gesti, sguardi, movimenti. La grammatica che i bambini esprimono riesce a essere compresa a tutte le latitudini. Elena Fava Emerson realizza un reportage dove sono i bambini a coinvolgerci in un viaggio che tocca paesi lontani: dalla Cuba delle feste popolari alla Thailandia martoriata dallo tsunami. L’occhio della fotografa si lascia stupire da quella innata capacità di modificare gli schemi comportamentali che i bambini hanno, catturando quello sguardo che, ingenuamente, apre al futuro e a una strada di cambiamento.
There is a language that does not require the study of written grammar but is based on gestures, looks, movements. The grammar expressed by children can be understood at all latitudes. In Elena Fava Emerson’s reportage, children take us on a journey that reaches faraway countries: from the popular festivals of Cuba to tsunami-torn Thailand. The photographer is amazed by children’s innate ability to modify their behavioural patterns, and captures that outlook that innocently opens up to the future and to a path of change.
