An exhibit from the 3M archives showcases images linked to and witnessing the cinema and on-set activities, as proven by the difference between the early photos (recalling theatrical ambiences) and the later ones (when the arrival of authors like Franco Pinna, Tazio Secchiaroli and Pierluigi Praturlon made for newly dynamic images). In addition to shots of key scenes from the films, we find backstage photos centring on the cameramen, engineers and directors. This draws us into the world of cinema, with its rails, takes, lights and characters. Because the role of archives is to preserve its artistic heritage, recalling the past so that it may live on in a more aware present.
