Gaido investigates the body, that here is multiplied, transfigured to the point of becoming virtual, multi-dimensional. The body is conceived as an instrument of understanding the other and of the world around us, simultaneously approaching and fleeing: it’s almost a dance whose rhythm, sometimes soft and sometimes obsessive, we seem to perceive. Gaido treats the body as a threshold, an opening but also a barrier, and the repeated use of long exposures, working with movement and light, creates swirling, enveloping patterns.
