Four female authors at work on self-portraits with styles resulting from different cultural and aesthetic choices. But who share a quest for self-discovery that goes beyond classic images – which are capable of capturing the appearance but not the depth of a personality. Their works are true investigations using the direct gaze of those who register their bodies in a dreamlike dimension with philosophical roots. The unusual gaze of those who choose irony to communicate with a paradoxical reality. The mysterious gaze of those who, in photos, hide themselves in details or in the shadows or who, instead immerse themselves in the landscape, in an incredibly evocative totality.
