Being a Muslim woman means interpreting life through faith against a meta-temporal horizon surpassing earthly experience, yet without nullifying it. Chiara Bussandri deconstructs prejudice on Islamic women and interprets religion as a single light that brings together women who are completely different from one another, each one with her unique life, dreams, and aspirations. The settings of the portraits are closely connected to the sitters, spaces where the portrayed women felt free to express themselves, and the light of sunset is a metaphor of the faith that embraces and illuminates the path of these wonderful women. This project is part of the Storie in transito exhibition series.
