Nature is a forest of symbols, said Baudelaire in his famous poem on correspondences. Through his diptychs, Calegari compares natural suggestions with details from the sophisticated world of food. In the intermittence created between the natural world and the orderly, human-dominated world of food, Calegari seeks unusual perspectives, creating a new reality that stands outside of a known space and beyond a measurable time, giving life to its own time and space, in a meditative recollection that leads one to stand still between past and future, in the here and now.
