The undisputed merit of photography is that it can focus the attention on unnoticed details. In Milano Portraits the probing gazes of two photographers with different styles have come together to bring to light the intrinsic beauty of everyday objects that belong to the urban landscape. Di Tria and Ferrillo create diptychs that show the objects as they are made, as opposed to the places where they live in relation to the use we make of them. Traffic lights, road signs, benches, drinking fountains and waste bins are photographed in their objectivity and are also shown in the act of being photographed.
